Does work with ac adapter. Radio, sound and tuning works. That's all I tested. It did pick up 2 radio stations but that may vary on your location. Comes with box and more. It has battery acid corrosion on the terminals, I didn't try to clean it or use new batteries in it. (It had leaking batteries in it when I got it). Manual is missing staples to hold it together and could be missing pages also. Box has a few tips and stretching of the cardboard where it opens. Has a ac car adapter that looks unopened Sold as is
